This project explores possible transformation pathways to achieve net-zero GHG emissions in Canada, with a special focus on the energy system. Pathways have been modelled using NATEM, a technology-rich optimization model that minimizes the overall cost to transform the system according to the imposed constraints, namely achieving net-zero by 2050. Using this platform facilitates the comparison of the scenarios modelled in the project, and the main analyses presented in the report are accessible here in a synthesized manner. The full report is available here.
